I went out the following day with my samsung phone. I took a bunch of pictures because I didn’t know how well it would perform. It did pretty well. I noticed it is very slow to focus -> take a picture -> switch filter -> focus -> take a picture. I know these filters are applied post picture but I wish I could set a way to take 1 picture and have 3-4 pictures spit out with the filters applied? As far as I know this isn’t possible. There is a setting in the samung phone to wait for the best qualitly focus before taking the picture. Its hard to say I would want to turn this off. I would prefer the best focus pictures. Eventually I might come back and deduplicate to save space for these pictures. I know there are tools to do this as well. I took a bunch of the same pictures because I really could not see the quality outside on a sunny day when taking them. I certainly will take less duplicates next time.

The other thing that thing that drives me crazy about the samsung phone is you download an app to unlock 24 megapixels. Then this setting shows up in the camera. In pro mode nope no 24 megapixel setting :( This drives me crazy. I never have dealt with RAW picture formats but the only megapixel settings are 12 and 50. I don’t know why samsung does this. This is why I’m still very interested in portable point and shoot cameras. The phone falls short in so many areas still. I was also able to kill my phone battery in about 90 min taking pictures. Something I really want to last all day really doesn’t without external battery packs now. I have plenty of these but who wants to carry these around? I’m also a little worried about overheating. The phone is constantly post processing filters after each shot.

I will post the B&W photos first. I at least did ask AI to write me a script that seperates B&W from color photos and dump them into a folder for each type. It would be so nice if each filter also applied a destination folder for the filter type. So if I’m taking a “soft color” picture I could set the folder this picture goes to.

Anyway all these pictures were taken on a samsung galaxy ultra 26+ with the Noir film filter. 24 megapixels and everything else set to auto. Let me know what you think.
