Lake Front Walk

I went for a quick walk on the lake front today. I tried to take a good set of photos. There was a goofy bird that almost looks fake just hanging out on a ball in belmont habor. I do my best to try and not take any pictures of people and respect their privacy. I do feel like I’m getting better at taking picture with my samsung phone. I keep looking at digital camera but in the end I really don’t think anything is going to be as good as this phone without spending an insane amount of money. There are also some weird wood statues I took pictures of. They are also very close to the lake shore drive road. So I have no idea why or what they are. Maybe I can find something on the internet about them. I’m heading out of town soon for a trip and should be able to take a ton of pictures and upload a ton of posts. I’m looking forward to it. I haven’t really been on a vacation this long in years. Its nothing crazy but we are heading to michigan soon with family.

Lake Front Walk

I took my samsung galaxy S26+ on the lake front again. Hopefully I didn’t take as many duplicates this time. I did attempt to take a couple RAW images that I will see if I can post at another time with some other filters/code I am working on. I tried to take 3 pictures per setup. I took an original (no filter), B&W filter, and a warm filter. I have it set to 24 megapixels and there is a setting that says take longer to take a photo if it means better focus. I did feel I was able to switch between filters quickly today.

I went out the following day with my samsung phone. I took a bunch of pictures because I didn’t know how well it would perform. It did pretty well. I noticed it is very slow to focus -> take a picture -> switch filter -> focus -> take a picture. I know these filters are applied post picture but I wish I could set a way to take 1 picture and have 3-4 pictures spit out with the filters applied? As far as I know this isn’t possible. There is a setting in the samung phone to wait for the best qualitly focus before taking the picture. Its hard to say I would want to turn this off. I would prefer the best focus pictures. Eventually I might come back and deduplicate to save space for these pictures. I know there are tools to do this as well. I took a bunch of the same pictures because I really could not see the quality outside on a sunny day when taking them. I certainly will take less duplicates next time.

Lake Front Walk

I’m not sure if people have seen the chicago lakefront trail but I consider it to be one of the best areas to get outdoors in chicago. All these pictures were taken with a Sony Mavica MVC-FD75. This is one of the very first sony camera that took pictures. It uses old 3.5" floppy disks. The resolution is only 640x480 but I love the look of both the color and B&W photos. This camera was very hard to see in the sun.
